Flagler College Mock Trial team advances to Opening Round Championship Series

One of two Flagler College Mock Trial teams placed third out of 24 teams at the American Mock Trial Association Regional Tournament hosted at Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, advancing to the Opening Round Championship Series. Competing as Team 1511, the Saints secured victories or split ballots against powerhouse programs including Florida State University, the University of Florida, Emory University, and Stetson University. Those programs regularly advance to the national championship rounds.

Sixteen Flagler student-athletes named to PBC Fall 2025 All-Academic Teams

Sixteen Flagler College student-athletes were recognized as members of the Peach Belt Conference Fall 2025 All-Academic Team, an honor that celebrates excellence in the classroom. The recognition is part of the conference's broader initiative to highlight the academic achievements of student-athletes. To earn the distinction, nominees must be starters or key reserves with a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average, have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests at the listed position, and have completed one full calendar year at their current institution while holding sophomore academic and athletic standing.

Flagler College Performing Arts Department Triumphs at Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival

The Performing Arts Department at Flagler College achieved remarkable recognition for its production of "Streetlight Woodpecker" at the prestigious Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). This outstanding production, penned by Flagler's Professor Shawn Fisher, was one of only five selected from 11 states to perform at the regional festival in North Carolina. The production garnered an impressive 14 National Awards, covering almost every award category, showcasing excellence in acting, directing, design, technology, management, and departmental collaboration.

Flagler College Mock Trial Team Shines in 2024-2025 Competitions

Flagler College's Mock Trial team, a member of the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA), achieved remarkable success in several competitions during the 2024-2025 season. Under the guidance of their faculty advisor, Jonathan Growick, the team showcased their skills in critical thinking, teamwork, and trial tactics, earning multiple awards and recognition.

Flagler College Students Present Research at the 2025 Southeastern Estuarine Research Society Conference

Three Flagler College students presented research posters at the 2025 Southeastern Estuarine Research Society (SEERS) Conference held at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Research Institute in Fort Pierce, Fla. Their presentations were titled "An Investigation of Alkalinity, pH, and Saturation State in the Matanzas River Estuary," "Marine Primary Production: A Method and Site Comparison in the Matanzas River Estuary in Northeast Florida," and "Spatial and Temporal Trends in Dissolved Nutrients and Harmful Indicator Bacteria in the Matanzas River Estuary." The conference provided an opportunity for academics and professionals from various fields to come together and share their research.
